Getting There: Leave Tavistock on the B3362 heading towards Lamerton and Milton Abbot. As you leave the built up area you will see a turning to the left signposted Mill Hill and Milemead Fisheries. Follow this lane for approx. one mile. As you dip down into the valley, the fishery is on the right before the bridge and Mill Hill quarry.

Milemead Fisheries consists of three lakes of about 2 acres each situated in an attractive valley only one mile from Tavistock. Two of the lakes are used for coarse fishing and the third is a specimen carp lake. A smaller body of water, known as The Canal, is also available for coarse fishing.

Milemead Fisheries complexCarp Lake: A well established coarse fishing lake, stocked with common, mirror and ghost carp [to 20lb], roach (to 2lb 10oz), tench and bream. Most of the usual waggler and leger tactics work well with maggot, corn and bread being the favoured baits. Floating baits work well in the warmer months. Catches of 100lb are common with 200lb bags taken every year.

Match Lake: This coarse fishing lake is well stocked with carp (to 10lb), bream, tench, roach, rudd, barbel, chub and crucians. Open matches are held throughout the year on alternate Sundays along with summer evening matches held on Thursday evenings between May and August. The lake consists of 30 well spaced pegs and is available for match bookings. Although constructed with the match angler in mind, this lake is also ideal for pleasure anglers of all abilities.

Specimen Carp Lake: The Lake is home to 150 home grown Commons, Mirrors and Ghost Carp that have been selected for their quality, fast growth rate and individual scale patterns. The Carp currently average around 17 lbs with at least 25 over 20 lbs of which 4 of these are over 25 lbs. The biggest of these is currently “Yogi” who came out pre-spawning at 29 lb +.
