Darracott Reservoir offers coarse fishing in an attractive three acre water controlled by The South West Lakes Trust. Depths at this venue vary from only 3ft at the narrow end to nearly 27ft at the dam end. This venue is noted for its bream with fish to 6lb and big bags definitely on the cards. Other coarse fish present at Darracott Reservoir are carp [to 25lb], tench [to 4lb], eels [to 3lb], perch [to 3lb 8oz] and roach and rudd [to 1lb].
Feeder tactics are the best approach for the bream. Try fishing redworm tipped with maggot or caster. Pellets also work well. The method feeder can also be successsful as well as pole fished corn at times. Try legered, hair-rigged boilies for carp or large pellets over PVA bags of goodies. Waggler fished maggot over loose feed works well for roach and rudd.
Best swims to try are on the right hand bank as you face away from the dam.
