Getting There:Meadowside Fisheries is situated on the A39 at Winnards Perch, halfway between St. Columb Major and Wadebridge and approximately 12 miles from Newquay in Cornwall.
Meadowside Coarse Fisheries, set within the Cornish Birds of Prey Centre is one of the most pleasant and tranquil settings for an excellent day's coarse fishing. Located down in a valley, they have over 3 acres of well-stocked coarse fishing lakes, consisting of two lakes, both with islands and sheltered pegs.
Middle Lake: A man-made coarse fishing lake two acres in size featuring four islands and depths from 5 feet to 10 feet. Middle Lake has mirror and common carp to 20lb, roach to 2lb, perch to 3.5lb, bream to 7lb, tench to 5lb plus skimmers.
Best tactics and baits include 14mm trout pellets on hair-rig for carp, swim feeder with corn or maggot for roach, worm or double maggot for perch, bread, corn or worm for bream and groundbait feeder with corn or worm for tench.
Bottom Lake: Another man-made coarse fishing lake covering one and a half acres featuring one island and depths from 5 feet to 12 feet. Bottom Lake has carp to 15lb, tench to 4lb and still water barbel to 4lb.
Best tactics and baits include boilies or trout pellets for carp, groundbait feeder with corn or worm for tench and groundbait feeder with worm for barbel.
Meadowside Fisheries is open every day of the year from 7.30am till dusk. Rod licences are required to fish these lakes.
