The Be-Well Non Magnesium Flameless Ration Heater (NMFRH)

Until now the Non Magnesium Flameless Ration Heater (FRH) has been targeted for use in military operational, expedition and extreme sporting conditions. This product was developed to be a more acceptable type of FRH and meet the demands of military, emergency service and civilian customers.

This best kept secret has now become the popular choice of many lorry drivers and fisherman as the meals need no stoves, matches or other cooking accessories… everything you need to heat up the tasty dish is included within the Be-Well meal pack.

Compared with magnesium types of FRH’s, this new type of FRH contains an efficient mixture of lime and aluminium and has the advantage of not emitting an unpleasant metallic smell when activated.

Flameless Ration Heaters, using magnesium, emerged in the early 1990’s to heat soldiers MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat) in operational and training situations. MRE is the name given to a sealed, ready to eat meal, packed into an aluminium retort pouch. The advantages of these pouched meals are that they have a long shelf life. They are compact, easy to pack into military ration packs, jacket or backpacks and take up less storage space than tins. They can be kept in a cool, dry place until required, with no refrigeration needed. The meals are not dehydrated, but are tasty, wholesome, ready cooked meals, which are sterile until opened. Recipes can be produced to meet the customers taste, ingredient and nutritional requirements.

Be-Wells Non Magnesium Flameless Self Heat Ration Packs are activated with a small amount of water, a sachet of which is included inside. An exothermic reaction then takes place, with heat and steam quickly produced. Inside 10-12 minutes a piping hot, delicious tasting meal is ready, to be eaten straight out of the pouch, or in the case of Be-Well Self Heat Packs, poured into the dish provided.

Cutlery, serviette, salt and pepper are all included, for the convenience of the user. Ambient type ready to eat meals, packed in a plastic or aluminium dish can also be heated with this type of FRH. Instructions on the heater bag can be printed in any language, if supplied with the translation, based on the volume requirement.

Until now the Be-Well Self Heat Packs have been exclusively available to the military, police, fire brigades, ambulance service and other search and rescue services.
